Synopsis
Tori likes nights much better than mornings. During the day, he goes to school, does homework, and has a lot to do, but at night he has time to play. Most importantly, his parents come home after dark. Tori doesn't want to play alone, so he waits for his mom and dad. Tori's mom tries to make him go to bed, but he doesn't want to sleep. But even when Tori finally falls asleep, he wakes up often. When Tori wakes up, he goes to the toilet and finds his parents watching a late-night TV show. His parents tell him that he can't watch it because it's too violent, but Tori is upset because he thinks they're playing without him. Even when they go camping, Tori has to go to bed early alone. He is envious of his mom and dad cuddling up to each other and looking at the stars.
Tori sleeps late at night and has trouble getting up in the morning. One day, Tori overslept, and it happened to be the day of his first elementary school picnic. Tori can't blame his mom because he told her that he can wake up on his own the night before. Tori is disappointed to miss the picnic, so he cries and decides to go to bed early from now on. But his mom keeps laughing at his crying. It turns out the picnic is next week. Tori is relieved and smiles and even dances. Realizing that he can do more fun things when he goes to bed on time and wakes up on time, Tori walks lightly to school for his last tardy.
