King Jeongjo’s Happy Parade in 1795
Written by Yoon Min-yong ● Illustrated by Lee Hwa
A round trip of King Jeongjo with her mother, Lady Hyegyeong, to visit Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon for her 60th birthday banquet. This book reinterprets 〈Hwaseong Wonhaengdo〉, a picture documenting a huge banquet with the subjects and a seven-day-and eight-night journey. It was reorganized based on Uigwe(Royal Protocols), documentary paintings, paintings, and maps about King Jeongjo’s royal parade to the Hwaseong Fortress. The annex shows the story about the Temporary Palace at Hwaseong Fortress and Hwaseong Fortress’s construction, books and pictures about the Royal Parade to Hwaseong Fortress, Lady Hyegyeong’s palanquin, and dances and music for a royal banquet.
